Thailand's Monkeys!

Introduction:

While hiking in Thailand, I have been able to see some of Thailand's amazing monkeys! They are adorable and fascinating to watch, but sometimes they can be aggressive so tourists need to be careful when observing these beautiful animals.

What does this creature or plant look like?:

There are several different types of monkeys in Thailand. I believe each of the monkeys I have seen are part of the macaque monkey family. Some of these monkeys have what looks like a red mask that goes around their eyes. The rest of their body is white or light brown, and the male monkeys have a long, chin-like flap that hangs under their face. Other monkeys do not have the red around their eyes or the long chins, and they are thinner and neutral-colored.

How did I feel when I saw it?:

The first time I saw a monkey, I was standing at the base of a waterfall. There was a tree above me and suddenly I saw splashes coming up from the water. I realized that fruit was falling from the tree above me and splashing into the water around. When I looked up, there was a monkey eating his lunch in the tree! A few minutes later, several more monkeys joined and they quickly ran between the branches. It was amazing to see the monkeys so close up. I loved seeing the little facial expressions they make.
