Environment in Tha Sala

Introduction:

The province where I live, Nakhon Si Thammarat, has jungles, mountains and oceans. These different environments all bring special character and development to the towns and people here.

What makes this environment special or different?:

Where I live in Thailand, the environment is mostly beach or jungle with towns carved out of these areas. There is more mixing of nature and civilization than you would find in most places in the United States. In addition, Thailand is tropical and warm. Even now in late November, it is often 80 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Also, Thailand's temperatures do not vary throughout the year as greatly as many places do in the United States.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

Many different types of animals, including cows, chickens and pigs, live around Thailand and supply people with necessary food. From what I have seen in my town, most of these animals are fairly free range and are not kept in tight spaces like many farm animals in the United States. The diet in Thailand is heavily tied to the environment. In Thailand, people eat rice with every meal - breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. This is because rice is easy to grow, cheap and filling. Fruit and coconuts are common, too, because they grow easily in this environment.
