From Here to There and Back Again!

All of the drivers are very aware of the road and the other cars around them, but there are not many stop lights or traffic signs, so most of the road rules come from communicating with other drivers through hand signals and honks.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

One of the things I really love about the culture in México is how close everything feels. Although the country spans over hundreds and hundreds of miles, and each of the 32 states has its own unique culture and traditions, most everyone is very welcoming towards each other. When I ask for suggestions or need help with my pronunciation, everyone is always very eager to give me their time and advice, and this is especially true when it comes to travel. Taxi drivers will always stop if they have space, many bus drivers have helped me with directions and to choose the right stop, and sharing rides with friends is always encouraged.  Chetumal is also a fairly new city in the state of Quintana Roo, which explains why much of the transportation relies on cars and other automobiles, rather than smaller roads for walking or biking (like a small town might have), or big public transportation systems (like a older, larger city might have).
