A Honk, a Ding and a Song to Sing!

Because of this, many people in México get their drinking and cooking water from a garrafon, which is a 20-liter jug.  This is equivalent to five gallons, or five American-stye jugs of milk! These garrafons can be bought from corner stores, refilled in water stations around the neighborhood or delivered right to your door. When they are all full, garrafons can weigh around 45 pounds, so many families prefer to listen for the water truck and switch their garrafons right at their houses!

Is this need being met? How?:

Along with the four services we talked about above, there are many other vendors that sell things, ranging from appliances for your house (fans, stoves and microwaves, for example), fresh-baked cakes and even live plants (for the garden and for inside). All these services are special because they come on wheels and right up to your door. Since the most common way to get around the city of Chetumal is by taxi, which can sometimes be very expensive and take a long time, having these services come right to your home is a great solution! Plus, who doesn’t want a sweet treat delivered right to their house? All you have to do is listen for the horn!
