Koalas Eat Gum Trees

Introduction:

The Greater Blue Mountains area of New South Wales is a sandstone plateau (a mountain with a flat top) where many different types of eucalyptus trees (gum trees) can be found. It is an area of rugged tablelands, sheer cliffs and deep inaccessible valleys that contain ancient species of plants that are thought to date back to the time of the dinosaurs. The area is densely-populated with eucalyptus trees, and when viewed from a distance, the mountains take on a bluish color. It is thought that a fine oily mist emitted by the large numbers of eucalyptus trees, in combination with dust particles and water vapor, scatter rays of sunshine to produce the blue light for which the area is known.

I have also attached a video of some of the fun places I have been to and amazing animals I have been lucky to see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcsxHdwJnk8

What does this creature or plant look like?:

Eucalyptus trees vary in size from small shrubs to tall trees. They typically have glossy green leaves that are waxy to the touch, and most are evergreens. Their leaves are covered in oil glands that produce large amounts of oil and the distinctive smell for which eucalyptus leaves are known.
