A Kid's Life in Germany

Introduction:

Lena is one of my seventh grade students. This is her first year in Gymnasium, or a German school similar to an American high school. Lena is in my English class twice a week, but the rest of the week she is a busy student just like students in America. Her life is pretty similar to the life of a student in the U.S.A. Let's ask her some questions and find out what she has to say!

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast, I usually eat yogurt and müsli (moos-lee) which is like granola. My favorite kind has chocolate in it. Sometimes ,I eat bread with cheese, but that's usually what I have for lunch, so dinner is different. My mom makes dinner for me and my dad. My favorite dinner is when we eat pizza!

What is your house like?:

I live in an apartment with my mom and dad near the school. Our house has a kitchen, a living room and two bedrooms.

What chores do you have at home?:

I have to keep my room clean. Sometimes my mom makes me take the trash out to the bin when I am leaving to go to school or about to go out with friends. I help make dinner a lot, too.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My mom works in a bank and my dad works at the University.
