Old, New and Crowded Delhi

It is difficult for the city to limit the amount of traffic on the roads, collect everyone's garbage, ensure everyone has clean water and help people get jobs or education.

How have people been adapting to this environment?:

One way people have adapted to Delhi's environment is by using less personal space than what many people use in America. To give you some idea of what I mean, on a typical two lane road, there will be three cars, two motorcycles, one bicycle, and a tuk-tuk zooming side by side. In stores, people crowd the cashier and check-out all at the same time. On buses, people fill every seat, then line the center aisle and hang on the outside as well!

Somehow, despite the press of people, life in Delhi works most of the time. How would you feel if you had to live so close to so many other people? What would be benefits of such a lifestyle? And what challenges would you likely face?
