Namaste (that means "Hello!" in Hindi)! I'm Kalady Osowski, a current U.S. Fulbright-Nehru Researcher. Ever since I was little, I always loved studying and making art. When I got to college, I knew that I wanted to do just that! I had so many amazing teachers, but my favorite teacher was an Indian art expert. Her classes brought together art and history, politics, and archeology and showed me how connected cultures are with the products they make and use.

This year, I'm using that background to research the black market (the illegal trade) of art in North India. The black market isn't a real market like a grocery store; instead, it is a secret network of buyers and sellers that exchange illegal goods like drugs or stolen art. In North India, some people steal and sell art because they have no other way to make money for food. It is my job to figure out who is selling art and how to help them. Keeping people out of poverty will keep Indian art safe!

This is a secret mission, and it can get a little dangerous. Do you choose to accept it? Let's go!
