An Interview with my 6th Grade English Class!

Introduction:

This week, I interviewed a class of 6th graders about their everyday lives. They worked in teams to write answers to these questions, and I only helped them a little with grammar and spelling. These kids only just started learning English in 5th grade, so it’s really impressive how clear their answers are! They’re super excited that a real American class will be reading about their lives here in Germany!

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast we eat many things. Some of us like to eat Salami Brötchen (a bread roll with butter, cheese, and salami), and most of us eat Müsli (a brand of cereal that has oats and little chocolate pieces). For lunch, we eat sandwiches or Bratwurst or something our parents packed for us. A typical German dinner is some sort of meat (probably chicken, pork, or sausage) and vegetables (like red cabbage or carrots). We also eat lots of big salads too.

What is your house like?:

We all live in different types of houses. Some of us live in apartments in the city. Some of us live in houses in the country. Many of us have to share rooms with our brothers and sisters. This is sometimes annoying!

What chores do you have at home?:

We wash dishes, take out the trash and vacuum the carpet.
