Traveler Bio

Guten Tag liebe Schüler (Hello dear students)! My name is Frances, I’m 22 years old, and I grew up in Happy Valley, Pennsylvania. Yes, that’s really the name of the town! At home, I like to read books, play the ukulele and make movies with my friends. When I was just five years old, my family took a trip to Germany because my dad studies German composers. I remember thinking to myself that the next time I went to Germany, I wanted to be able to talk to other people in their native language. So when I got to middle school, I finally got my chance to learn! I kept studying German in college, and even spent my junior year in a city in northern Germany called Bremen.

This year, I’ll be living in another German town called Trier (pronounced like “tree,” but with an R at the end). It’s the oldest city in Germany, and some of its buildings are as much as 2,000 years old! But I won’t just be wandering around the town all day. I’ll also be teaching English to kids like you! Since I’ve had so much fun learning to speak German, I’m excited to help more people learn another language too. I’m so happy that you’ll be joining me on my adventures!
