Life in London: the city services and places that make it better

Introduction:

Throughout my time here in London, I have come to think of this city as my home, even if only for a limited time. I have enjoyed living in my neighborhood, taking the tube to get to other neighborhoods. I have also appreciated all the services that make life pleasant and work well, here. Coming from Los Angeles, and, before that, China, I’m used to big cities and how they work. London was as big and complicated and well-run as any city that I’ve ever visited before.

It was also an interesting time to be studying in London because the entire United Kingdom is going through Brexit where they are deciding to leave the European Union. There are a lot of people who are celebrating because they are proud to be British and who want to become more independent by leaving the E.U. So far, that attitude hasn’t changed much in day-to-day life, but I wonder what Brexit will mean for the average Londoner as time passes.

What community need did I learn about?:

The neighborhood I was staying in is called South Kensington in the City of London, England. I saw how the city delivers trash services and how it has parks for people to enjoy open space and trees.
