The park was used frequently by people getting exercise or just wanting to take a walk on the weekends. The city kept the park very clean and made it nice to use. There are also other park spaces that are available for people who live in the neighborhood that are privately run. Those have to be used by people who are in specific homes or flats that help pay for the upkeep of the park.
Finally, some of the students in my flat come from different places: some speak different languages, and many haven't ever left their home country. The Foundation for International Education is there to help them get used to living in the UK and the Foundation also helps these students with basic things that they may not know much about, like where to find medicine when you get sick or how to get tickets to see shows, or even where there is good food in the neighborhood. Everyone at the Foundation was very friendly and helpful and answered my questions, no matter how hard they may have seemed for me. I believe they do a good job for the students in their program.
