I have been in the U.K. for only a few days. England is a very different country compared to the United States. The United Kingdom includes, Northern Ireland, Wales, England, and Scotland joined by a single government system. Fortunately, though, London is a very diverse city, and two thirds of people here are not British. There are 8.8 million people living in London, and more than 300 languages are spoken here. The U.K. is a country with a very long recorded history, and there are, therefore, many museums throughout London. The city has over 170 museums within its boundaries. London and is the largest city in Europe. I am living in Kensington, which is very close to central London and in the same area as the royal palace where Prince William and princess Kate live with their children.

In order to better integrate into the community, I have been exploring the city bit by bit to get a better understanding of the history, lifestyles and culture of the Londoner. So far, I have explored some of the long history of England. I’ve learned about many of the changes in the lives of the people of the U.K. over the centuries. I’ve also explored some museums and toured the Houses of Parliament to help me have a better understanding of the role of these places in the day-to-day life of people in the U.K..
