A Young Engineer’s Journey in Tech from Southeast London

I take the train to work and will take the London Underground tube to get around more central areas. The bus is also frequently used here, and it’s another good option to get around depending on where you are going.

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

I like to wear smart-casual or casual clothing mainly. Working in tech, it is rare that I will need to fully dress up for work settings, but I like to go in smart casual attire like jeans with a shirt, jumper or a quarter zip. During the winter seasons, I will wear bigger jackets and a hat, and I make sure to pack an umbrella for the rain around this time of year since it does tend to rain a lot here in the wintertime. There was a statistic saying there had been rainfall for 40 days straight this year in the U.K.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I am into fitness, so I like going to the gym before work and getting a good energy boost in the mornings. I also have a big appreciation for music and like to teach myself jazz standards on keyboard.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I mostly speak English. I am at an intermediate level in Spanish but can understand a lot more than I can speak currently. My family is of Caribbean descent, so I can understand some patois (more of a dialect) from being around grandparents and older family members.

Do you have pets?:

We have a Russian blue cat at home. They are very playful, a bit shy around strangers and tend to follow you around the home a lot.
