A Young Engineer’s Journey in Tech from Southeast London

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

Yes, I like to travel and experience other cultures. I’ve been to a lot of places in Europe, such as Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, and Croatia. I’ve been to the States a few times, as I have family in LA and NYC. I went on a West Coast road trip recently, which was great. The people were a lot friendlier than we’re used to in London!

What do you do for work?:

I’m a software engineer, specifically in DevOps. This stands for development operations. A lot of my work is cloud engineering and automation. I like solving technical problems and building apps and automations, so it’s a good fit for me.

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

London is a great place to visit. It’s a lot more than Royals, Harry Potter, tea and crumpets. It’s a vibrant city with lots to do and see. Transport is good, and the blend of different cultures results in lots of good food to try. There is a lot to like about London. Whilst I can say we are probably not that extroverted by American standards, British people can be very warm and hospitable. And we're definitely friendlier than New Yorkers!
