I’m Blake, and I’m a 26-year-old software engineer born and raised in South East London. I like herbal teas, fitness, chess puzzles, jazzy chord progressions and Tottenham Hotspur football club.

My full name is Blake McKenzie.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I live in a cosy, semi-detached home in Lewisham with my family.

What is your family like?:

I come from a Black British Caribbean heritage household with a blend of British and Caribbean traditions. My family is warm, intellectually curious lovers of music with a strong sense of initiative that likely stems from my grandparents' decision to make a life for themselves here during the Windrush generation, a generation where a lot of Caribbeans came to the U.K. to help rebuild Britain after World War II. They were also formally invited by the British royal family. A lot came on the HMT Empire Windrush ships, so that's where the term comes from.

How do you get around?:

I’m a Londoner in my mid 20s, so public transport is king for a lot of us. Much like a lot of big cities, you don’t need a car to get around.
