






In Malaysia, the main spoken language is Malay. In Tenom, there are also many Chinese speakers.
The ringgit is the type of currency used here. An easy conversion from U.S. dollars to ringgit is to multiply by 4. So $1 equals 4 RM (ringgit).

The school’s cafeteria had rojak on Friday. At first glance rojak looks like spaghetti Bolognese, but it contains noodles with a spicy peanut sauce. It is sometimes served with potatoes or fried eggs. As someone who loves peanut butter, this dish is understandably one of my favorites!
I joined a group of students at school who love to sing. Right now we are singing “Rewrite the Stars” from the the movie The Greatest Showman.
This past Saturday one of my fellow English teaching assistants (E.T.A.s) held a Harry Potter-themed English Camp for students at their school. We had six teams of ten students who circulated among stations. Stations included quidditch, making ooblek, and creating a house flag!
