I was able to make some home-cooked meals that I was missing, such as tacos with homemade guacamole. My favorite meal from school was a ham and potato au gratin, which is like a potato casserole. Plus, we had a delicious vegetable and noodle soup as a starter.
This week, I listened to my own playlist with my favorite songs from singers in the United States. I have also been listening to music from the movie and show "Wicked," since I just watched the new film in the theater. One of my fellow Americans here in Slovakia recently sent me a playlist of Slovak songs and artists, so I will soon be starting to listen to these songs. Maybe I will find a new favorite song!
This week, I was busy catching up with my lessons and some other projects I have been working on. Even with my busy schedule this week, I was able to start a new sewing project and bake! Every week, I have made one new recipe for either my students or the other teachers at my school. This week, I made banana bread and peanut butter banana bars. Peanut butter is one food that they do not normally eat, but they still enjoyed my treats.
This week, I read a little bit of a Slovak book that I was given. This book includes all the towns in Slovakia, their history, and things to see. I am starting to make a long list of places I want to visit before my time here is up.
