This week, I did not travel very far. However, last weekend, I traveled to the Czech Republic. Olomouc was about 52 miles away. On the way back from that city, I also stopped in the city of Brno. My friend and I were able to visit our first Christmas market of the season in this city!
I have traveled outside of my host town almost every weekend. I have been to Norway, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and even to the opposite side of Slovakia. In total, I have traveled around 3,800 miles!
When I went to the Czech Republic last weekend, I went by bus and train. Everywhere else this week, I walked. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to my school and about 15 minutes to walk to the shopping center. My town is smaller than the average town in the United States, so I can walk to most places.
Last weekend, I visited Olomouc and Brno, Czech Republic. While there, I visited many historical sites, like a palace, many churches, the town hall and several art museums. This town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fancy name just means that it is protected by a government group, so the monuments can not be taken down or destroyed. While in Europe, I want to visit as many UNESCO sites as I can.
