Cachopo is clearly connected to the local environment. Asturias is known for cows and the milk, cheese, and meat it produces. Cachopo is made using the meat of Asturian cows. These cows are bred and cared for by the people of Asturias.
This sign outside of a popular supermarket reads: "I am an Asturian calf. I'm not like the others."--showing that people from Asturias believe that their cows are the best and produce the best milk products!
