Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

There is an inter-city train line that runs along the coast, and my group and I spent time exploring the cities at each of those stops. Some of the local cities include Cannes (ca-hn) (as in the film festival), Antibes (anne-teeb), Ventimiglia, Italy (Vawn-tee-meelia), and Monte Carlo, Monaco. Even though the last two are in different countries, they are only a 20 or 25 minute train ride away. Also,  due to the fact that all of these countries are in the European Union, the train guards don't check your passport at the border like they would if you were going to Canada or Mexico. I ended up going to these cities over and over again because it was so cheap and easy to get there!

How did I get around this week?:

We have been taking advantage of how cheap the inter-city trains are. I didn't have classes on Wednesday, so my friends and I would take day trips to a different train stop each week, get off  and just explore whichever city we ended up in.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The Statue of Liberty! During World War 2, the United States gave aid to France and there's little fun spots around Nice that commemorate this, including a mini Statue of Liberty!
