All Roads Lead to New York City

Introduction:

I spend about three hours a day using public transportation in New York City so I have a lot to say about this topic. I can't wait to share with you all more about transportation because it's a HUGE part of the New York experiene!

How do people get around?:

There are a LOT of people who work in New York City who do not live on the island of Manhattan. Around 3.1 million people work during the day in Manhattan but only 1.6 million people live in the city. This means that around 2.1 million people commute into the city everyday. These people take trains, buses, ferries, subways, car share options like UBER, or drive their own cars. It's fantatstic to see and be a part of the crowd pouring in and out of the city every day.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

When I commute into the city from Bayonne, New Jersey, I take three modes of transportation. I take a small train called a LightRail that is local to the New Jersey coastline, then I take a train underground called the PATH. This train goes under the Hudson River. Then I walk to a Subway and ride for three stops to my office.
