NYC Cares About the Environment

Introduction:

When I first moved to NYC I thought that I would miss the countryside - the trees, the open air, and wild life. But I'm suprised to say that this city has done a great job planning the city around beautiful parks and gardens. I feel like I can still enjoy the changing of seasons and relax outside enjoying the nature.

What makes this environment special or different?:

One fun fact is that NYC gets its drinking water from up in the mountains above the city in a place called The Catskils. The water naturally filers itself up in the mountains and the water is safe to drink without additional purification treatment. Only a few cities in the United States have water this pure! This makes for really delicious food too - like bagels!

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

The good water draws a lot of different industries to NYC. It makes sense when you think about it because if you are someone who wants to create lots of soda or a drink that's mostly water, it's a good idea to go where the water is the best! Because of the good water there are lots of interesting and exciting foods. It brings people together from all over the world!
