Five Sixth Graders at My School


Manuel: My house is big and has three floors. My lazy brother also lives there.

What chores do you have at home?:

J: I make my bed every morning. I set the table and then I wash the dishes.
S: I also make my bed every morning. My brother is the favorite child, so I set the table and then I clear the table while my brother sits on his phone.
Marcos: I make my bed every day.  I wash the dishes and then put them on the table, and I clean my room every day.
Marta: I make my bed, but sometimes my mom makes my bed for me because I am very tired. I sometimes cook lunch and dinner, and I make my own breakfast.
Manuel: I make my bed every day. I dust the house and I set the table. I take out the trash while my brother is sleeping.

What jobs do your parents have?:

J: My father is a teacher, and my mother is an English teacher.
S: My mother is a psychologist. My father is also a psychologist for the Red Cross and a teacher.
Marcos: My mother works for a hotel and a newspaper, and my father also works in the hotel and a bungalow.
Marta: My father is a fisherman, and my mother is a childcare specialist.
Manuel: My mother is a doctor, and my father works in IT.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

J: School starts at 9:30 a.m. for all of us. I go home at 4:00 p.m.. On Fridays, I have art so I go home at 5:30.
S: On Monday, Tuesday, and Friday I go home at 5:30.
Marcos: I sometimes go home at 8:00 and sometimes at 5:00.
Marta: On Tuesdays and Fridays I go home at 5:30.
Manuel: I go home at 4:15.
