I didn't wander too far from my neighborhood in Paris this week. The furthest I went was to see the Marie Curie play at the Reine Blanche (The White Queen) theater in the 18th arrondissement (quarter) in Paris. It took about 40 minutes to take the metro from my laboratory in the 5th quarter to the theater.
I arrived in Paris in August 2018. I flew to France from New Jersey, over 3,500 miles away across the Atlantic Ocean. Back in the fall, some of my friends and I took a day trip to a town called Reims in the Champagne region of France. Reims is famous for its cathedral.
I usually get around on foot, but I also take the bus, metro, and RER (the regional underground trains) to get to other arrondisements (quarter) of Paris more quickly.
This week, I visited the 18th arrondissement (quarter) for the first time when I went to see the Marie Curie play. The neon lights on the street leading up to the theater were beautiful!
