Los Niños (The Kids!)

Introduction:

What do you have for breakfast? When do you eat lunch? How long do you go to school? The daily life of children in Spain is very different from your own! But it is also quite similar. Children still play together and have similar favorite classes and hobbies.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

In Spain, breakfast is small: normally some crackers or toast with some juice. Since breakfast is small, there is a big snack time at school which is really important because lunch isn't until 2:00 PM! For snack, children eat a ham and cheese sandwich, yogurt and/or fruit. Lunch is the biggest meal of the day in Spain. Students will eat meat, fish, rice, etc. They will also have dessert at lunch rather than after dinner. Since lunch is served so late, dinner is also later, around 8:00 PM. Dinner here is a smaller meal and children will typically eat tortilla (a Spanish omelet) or some other small meal.

What is your house like?:

Since we live in a city, the houses here are really apartments. You do not have a house with a front door and a lawn, but rather, you can have an apartment with a few rooms in it. The apartment will have a kitchen, a living room which will also have a table at which to eat, a bedroom and a bathroom.
