My name is Seo Il-Kyo. It is nice to meet you all. I am originally from a small town on the outskirts of Daegu. Daegu is in the southern part of South Korea. My home town is more rural. I currently live in Seoul, South Korea, which is the capital. My Korean age is 30 but my international (American) age is 28. In Korea, there are two different ages. When you are born in Korea, you are considered already 1 year old! So you turn one year older every New Years. If you want to know your Korean age, just add an extra year to your American age after your birthday. So, if you are 10 and you already had your birthday that year then your Korean age would be 11.
Seo Il-Kyo is my full name. In Korea, your last name comes first. That is my full name. Seo is my last name and Il-Kyo is my first name. Chok gok is my middle name, haha just joking. Our middle name is actually not used that much in Korea. It refers to where we are from. Actually, it is not our middle name but it is a rough translation.
