Getting Around in South Korea

Introduction:

Seoul is a large and bustling city. The population of Seoul is 9,766,000 (2017) compared to New York City which is 8,623,000 (2017). Since there is such a large population in Seoul, public transportation is a very important factor to consider when deciding how to get around the city.

How do people get around?:

There are many different ways to get around in Seoul. Since Seoul has a very efficient and clean public transportation system, many people take the subway or bus. I use a T-Money card to pay for the subway and for bus fares. A lot of people in Seoul also walk because everything is pretty close together in this city. There are also apps that you can use that allow you to rent scooters or bikes. There are also a lot of motorcycles and cars, but since traffic gets very hectic in Seoul, it is generally better to use public transportation

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

I love taking public transportation. It's really fun and fast. I save a lot of money by using public transportation. In Ventura and Santa Barbara, I use a car to get around. I have to pay for gas and car maintenance. So, living in Seoul is nice because public transportation is cheap! To give you an idea how cheap: usually, it will cost about a dollar to go anywhere in Seoul. This is so cheap!
