How was the weather this week?:

The weather was sunny and at times cloudy. When the clouds cover the sun, the weather is a bit chilly because of the wind. Wellington is the world's windiest city, with an average of 22 days of over 74 km/hr (45.9mph) and 173 days above 59 km/hr (36.6mph) of wind speed. Sometimes I can hear the wind banging against my window! But, when it is less windy and the sun is out the weather is beautiful for any occasion. New Zealand experiences autumn from March to May.

What animals did I see this week? :

There are different kinds of birds at every park or nature trail. The three urban bird species that are doing well are kākā, tui and kākāriki. During one of my hikes, I saw the kākāriki or red-crowned parakeets that roam freely on the island.

What was the coolest thing I saw in nature this week?:

The view from the top of the windmill was by far the best I have seen in Wellington. To get to the top, I hiked through Pohill Reserve.
