I estimate I've spent seven hours and 45 minutes total commuting from place to place. Most of that time comes from traveling between my dorms and school, some of that is traveling from my dorms to my grandparent's house, and some of that is from traveling from my grandparents' house to the mountains. That estimate is also probably low because that doesn't account for little side quests and pit-stops at cafes and restaurants.
The distance from O'Hare International Airport in Chicago to Haneda Airport in Japan is 6,326 miles. Once in Japan, people usually walk 9,000 steps a day, which is about 3.75-4.7 miles. I'll go with four miles a day for my own walking pace. It has been 28 days since I arrived in Japan, so I'll guess I've walked 112 miles since I arrived. I also travel by train a lot. The distance from my dorms to campus is about 7.9 miles, and the distance from my dorms to my grandparent's house is 17.15 miles. Since the school year started, I commuted between dorms and campus 14 times (14 individual times once going there and once coming back), and I've commuted to my grandparent's house five times. Total distance traveled from dorms to campus is 110.6 miles, and from dorms to home is 85.75 miles.
