Journal Entry:

I came to Japan a little over three months ago, on August 27th, at about 9:00 pm.

To this day, I am struck by the mere notion that I am living in Japan, that I am actually studying and living in such an amazing country. I live with my grandparents on the weekends. I study in Shibuya at an amazing school. I have made friends at my dorms and at my school. And this Reach the World program has pushed me to do things I wouldn't normally do.  For example, look back at my interview with Kao... I was extrememly nervous for this!

I am also grateful. I am grateful for the series of events that landed me in Japan. I am grateful to my family who encouraged me to study abroad. I am grateful to the people at Reach the World for encouraging me to write about my experiences and putting me in contact with your classroom.

Looking forward, I know I still have a few more months of my study abroad program left. Although our time together with Reach the World is ending, and I won't be able to share those months with you, I'm hopeful that following my time in Japan has encouraged you all to go abroad, either to study or to vacation... not just to go to Japan, but to any country that piques your interest.

Thank you all for your time and attention, and I hope you find the courage to go on your own adventure!
