Sunday roast is connected to the environment and history of the United Kingdom. Many of the foods included in a roast, such as potatoes, carrots and other root vegetables, are grown in the U.K. Furthermore, the U.K. has deep agricultural roots, and many of these ingredients were also available in the 15th century. Through sharing Sunday roasts and other group meals with friends, I have come to realize that traditions reveal how a country's past influences its future.
