Everyone had Monday and Tuesday off. On Saturday, I rode with some of my climbing group to climb Mount Corazon. The traffic leaving the city was intense. Everyone wanted to get out of the city and go to the beach for the holiday.
Peace Corps (my program) will not let voluteers travel to the coast, for safety reasons, so I stayed home for the holiday. I was too tired to venture out on Sunday, but I heard some fireworks outside.
Later, I heard about many problems in the historical center over the weekend, including motorcycle accidents and unruly people, so I'm glad I stayed in to rest.
