Our News

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I don't know if I would call this the most "fun" I've had all week, but I workout at the gym as part of my Cotopaxi training 4-5 times a week. Weight training is tough, but I can tell that I'm getting stronger, and that feels good. It also helps to know that all this effort means the next climb will be a little easier than the one before it. The trainers at the gym are friendly and helpful. I know where everything is now, so I feel more confident everytime I go!

What did I read this week?:

I recently finished reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. It is about a young woman who is struggling with her mental health. It was funny, sad, and uplifting all together. Since I finished it, I'm having a tough time deciding what to read next.

I use the Libby app to check out online books from my local library back in Lubbock, Texas. I checked out a book called The Volcano Daughters by Gina Maria Balibrera. It's about El Salvador, so that seems like a good option.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I don't play organized sports or video games. The one "game" I have on my phone that I love is Monument Valley. I learned about it when I taught a class in digital arts. It is more about solving puzzles, which I love. The graphics and color palette are beautiful. It doesn't have any instructions, you just have to figure out what to do. It's a fun way to pass the time when I'm waiting.

Other news from this week:

This past weekend was an extended holiday for Carnival, or the days before the beginning of Lent.
