I usually go out for desayuno (breakfast) a few times a week, and almuerzo (lunch) most days. This week, I worked from home most of the time because of the rain. I went out one night for a small indulgence and ordered a supreme pizza from Quito Pizza Company, which is a block from my apartment. I hadn't eaten pizza in ages, and it was fantastic! It's not something usually eat, but I was missing "American" food. A medium pizza cost $14.
I am easily much older than most of your parents (57), so my musical tastes are very "old fashioned". When I'm working from home, I usually listen online to a jazz station from Chicago, WDCB or Spanish music on my emergency radio. My favorite Ecuadorian station is Radio Eres, 93.3.
At the gym, I listen to Spotify playlists that I created. Lately, I like songs about sunshine: "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash, "Mr. Blue Sky" by ELO, "Good Morning Starshine" by Oliver (from the musical, Hair), and "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers. Listening to songs like this as I watch the rain pouring down outside, helps me get through the gray days.
I spend a lot of time on the treadmill. I made a playlist for hiking called, "Walk, and Walk, and Walk". Some of my favorites are "Hungry Heart" by Bruce Springsteen, "Walking on Broken Glass" by Annie Lennox, "I Walk the Line" by Johnny Cash, and "Sleep Walk" by Santo & Johnny.
These are all really old songs, but I love them all. There are more, but I'll save that for later.
