Different Ways of Traveling in Cergy, France

Introduction:

In Cergy, the majority of citizens drive les voitures (cars) to get to their destination if it is within the city. If you traveling outside of the city to Paris (a thirty-minute car ride away), an abundant amount of people take the train or bus. All transportation is crowded and confusing at first: most of the cars I have seen are filled with people car-pooling to work; the train to Paris can be expensive; and busses can really help if you are taking home a lot of groceries.

How do people get around?:

Cars are mostly how people travel here in Cergy! The vehicles are surprisingly similar in style being manual gear shift, compact-sedan, and dark in color. Furthermore, parking is loosely regulated, here. Cars are usually parked where there is space, and there are rarely parking lines except for established restaurants and street parallel parking. Similarly, the flow of traffic is not too formal. Everyone is zooming to work from 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM. That is why most walkers are advised to be careful even though pedestrians have the right of way. Thus, many people do not wear headphones or other distractions when walking. Journeying to your destination on foot is the second most popular form of transportation and people tend to walk to a bus stop or train station.
