Different Ways of Traveling in Cergy, France

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

Every time I rode in a vehicle, I noticed the number of roundabouts that are used here to regulate traffic. For example, if I attempt a left turn at an intersection, I have to go around a roundabout and not simply turn left which would cut off traffic. I haven't personally driven a car to do that, but I have seen people who tried and immediately got a barage of honks.

Since I don't drive a car, I always walk to school. I haven't bought a bus pass yet; however, I have ridden the train to Paris. It is called RATP, and it is the first train I've ever ridden. I was surprised to find that the train is very clean, but the amount of seats is limited. Standing up is normal between train stops, but there is always a seat opening between people leaving and coming.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Transportation in France is a little more environmentally conscious than in Mississippi. I noticed, for example, that there aren't as many gas stations, and there are more electric cars. Also, car owners still take the bus or train. It saves a traveler's money if they travel heavily by bus or train. It is believed mass transportation is more efficient than traveling individually.
