Pretty, Pretty World!

Introduction:

Before I arrived in Indonesia, I was told how hot it would be but honestly, nothing could have prepared me. In Indonesia, it is usually 90 degrees Fahrenheit every day. I am so hot all of the time! Since it is so hot, I was really happy when the rainy season began. When it rains, the temperature gets much cooler.

What makes this environment special or different?:

I have always thought that rain in Indonesia is different from the rain in the United States. When It rains here, it pours. It rains so much, but then after twenty minutes, it usually stops. Even though it's a short amount of time, the roads still fill with water and usually, there is flooding. This makes it hard to get to school sometimes so people usually understand if you are late following a rainstorm.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

All of the rain is great for the plants. The jungle where I live is always so green because of the rain. It is absolutely beautiful!

What challenges do people face living in this environment?:

As I mentioned earlier, a challenge is local flooding. The roads often flood so it can be hard or sometimes even dangerous to get where you want to go. In addition, people often are completely wet by the time they arrive somewhere so they need to bring extra clothes!
