Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

Sadly, the farthest I went was when I traveled about twenty feet from my front door. I was giving a medieval harp that I'm not using to another student who wants to learn it, and she came to my house to meet me and to pick up the instrument.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

The farthest I've traveled on my journey so far was from the USA to Geneva (about 3600 miles). Switzerland is a fairly small country, and I have taken the train around it a little bit. In the fall I went to London to watch my friend Ursa in a bagpiping competition. (1200 miles round trip). But imagine this: in the time it took to get from my house in America to Switzerland, I could have gone from Geneva to London and back six times!

How did I get around this week?:

When I could go out, I would usually walk becaue Geneva is a small city. Sometimes if I'm going somewhere in a hurry or if I have a big harp with me I take the tram. There are trams and busses, but no underground subway system. There are also many boats on the lake, which take people up and down the lake for fun, or across the lake to France. You can use the same transport card for trams and boats!

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The terrace!
