Our News

As I got ready for my day, I listened to more upbeat tunes in my "Feelin' myself" playlist, followed by a piano ballads playlist.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun I had this week was going to a turtle sanctuary. I learned a lot about turtles and other sea animals. Climate change and human activity such as fishing have had quite a negative impact on the turtle population, and they are classified as endangered in many places in the world.

What did I read this week?:

I read a National Geographic magazine article about the volcanos in Bali, Indonesia.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I did not get the chance to play any games this week, but I did do yoga! I'll need to make the effort to get some vigourous exercise next week.

Other news from this week:

I did yoga this week by the ocean. It was very peaceful, and a great way to reflect on my past week. I also went to the research lab at college and did sample prep on soil samples from different locations in Australia in order to test the amount of bacteria present in the sample. This will indicate if the groundwater is being polluted by chemicals such as fertilizers that are widely used in agriculture. In general, the more excess chemicals used in agriculture that end up in the soil, the more bacteria there is likely to be in the soil.
