We are very lucky with the weather in Fife, the name of the district where I live. Fife and St Andrews in particular get more days of sunshine than any other region of Scotland! This has been absolutely wonderful, as my original thoughts about Scotland were under the impression that it's always cold, rainy, and windy. While some days have been chilly and windy, you don't feel as gloomy so long as the sun is out! We have recently changed our clocks, and each day brings less and less sunlight. People try to be outside as much as possible during daylight hours!
Not too many! We have lots of black crows, pigeons, and seagulls always flying above. One thing about the UK that is different from the US is that dogs are deeply loved in all spaces here. I thought we loved dogs a lot in the States, but it is at an entirely different level across the pond! I've seen people bring their dogs to church, the grocery store, cafes, restaurants, even to the local library! People actually get quite upset if a business doesn't allow dogs inside.
