Haggis is the most traditional and well-known food, and it's available at most restaurants. It is a savory Scottish pudding and sausage made from minced sheep’s offal (heart, liver, and lungs) mixed with oatmeal, suet, onions, stock, and spices. Haggis is actually illegal in the United States, as we banned all meat products containing livestock lungs for human consumption back in the 1970s. I haven't tried it yet, but I hear people either love it or hate it! I have also yet to try Cullen Skink, which is a thick, creamy Scottish soup made with smoked haddock, potatoes, and onions. I've heard it tastes a lot like clam chowder! I have had many Scotch pies and sausage rolls though, as they are cheap and sold in most bakeries/markets. The national drink is called Irn-Bru, it is an orange drink, and to me it tastes just like liquid bubblegum!
