Something that has surprised me a lot has been the number of horses that I have seen on the street. A lot of people who live in Amargosa work as farmers and don't have cars. Instead, they ride their horses throughout the town to get to where they need to go. I love hearing the 'click-clack' of the horses' hooves on the pavement!
