The weather this week was VERY hot! It is sunny, humid and always between 85 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit. At night, it gets a bit colder, but all I need is a light jacket and then I am good to go. The weather here reminds me of New Orleans in the summer.
I saw many types of birds, lizards crawling on walls, and a couple of stray cats. I also saw a turtle on the campus of the university I work at, and my friend picked it up and placed it right in my hands! I had never held a turtle before, and I was very excited to do so. I have heard that there are many owls here in Amargosa that come out at night, so I am hoping to spot one soon!
When I was walking home one night, I saw about ten goats walking up the street toward me. I was so surprised and thought that they had maybe escaped from their home. I later asked a friend, and he said that it is normal! They roam the streets at night and always come back by morning.
