Everything in Parma feels super close, so I bike everywhere and nothing seems too far. The real travel this week was going to Florence. It took two trains, and one of them was a high speed train. That was super cool to experience.
According to a map website I used it says 5502 kilometers, which is equivalent to about 3419 miles. I have been able to travel to:
Sardinia, Italy, on a school trip;
Brussels, Belgium, to learn about the European Union with a scholarship I recieved through the US department of State;
Bologna, Italy, where I fly out of everytime;
Valencia, Spain, to visit my host brother, who is studying there; and
Florence, Italy, for a school trip.
I get around by bike, bus, train and walking.
The Florence cathedral is the most beautiful one I have seen. I had the opportunity to climb the bell tower, which gave me a perfect view of the dome. The cathedral is covered in green, pink and white marble. These colors are a signature of Tuscan Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Green stands for hope, white for faith and pink for charity.
