The main language here is Italian, but I have been able to get away with speaking Spanish because it is so similar.
They use euros, as do all 27 countries in the European Union do.
If you are sitting at a table and trying to pay for water at a restaurant, it ranges from 6 euros to 8. If you are buying a single bottle of water from a store it is 1 to 3 euros.
A sandwich I had in Florence was amazing. It was focaccia with mozzarella, tomato, basil and prosciutto. Focaccia is a flat Italian bread with a lot of olive oil and salt. It’s baked in a pan, so it comes out thick and soft inside with a golden, slightly crispy top. The sandwich also had balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Normally I would have skipped the vinegar and oil because I eat them with almost every meal but they made the sandwich perfect. I am still thinking about how good it was! The mozzarella here really is the best thing I have had. On top of that, the portions are huge.
