I have been to more train stations than airports in Italy and Europe because of how easy it is to get around here. The trains run very frequently and cost consistently less than a flight would. It only costs around 70 euros if I wanted to leave to Rome tomorrow, which is about 3.5 hours by train. There are also buses I could take that drive through the night and are less than 30 euros.
