Animals of the Swiss Alps: Cows, Chamois, Ibex

Introduction:

During my weekend trips to various towns within the Swiss Alps, I have had the opportunity to see various animals that live in the region. It is common to see them grazing. If we're hiking on the mountains, it is also common to see them walking around in really high altitudes. I will be focusing on cows, chamois and the ibex.

What does this creature or plant look like?:

The cow, chamois and ibex are three diverse and beautiful animals found in the Swiss Alps. The cows that I have seen can be found all throughout farms and green pastures. They seem so huge and wide to me! They spend most of their days grazing or resting. They range in colors, and usually have spots. I've seen some that are light caramel with white spots, and some that are dark brown with lighter caramel spots.

The chamois is very similar-looking to a goat. Chamois live at really high altitudes in the Swiss Alps. They tend to have white facial markings and brown stripes. They also have short horns. They are able to thrive in really rocky terrain, and can also be spotted in the forest.

The ibex is a mountain goat that is known for its famous long horns with ridges. Ibex also live in the Swiss Alps on rocky terrain and high altitudes. Most Ibex are a light brown or greyish color.
