Animals of the Swiss Alps: Cows, Chamois, Ibex

Animals that live in the mountains also tend to have thick fur to help them survive the harsh winter months.

What can harm this creature or plant? Are we worried about it?:

As I previously mentioned, the cows are very well cared-for. They have the ability to roam freely within the farms. The ibex, however, were almost extinct close to the 19th Century. They were often hunted, especially for the value of their unique horns. Luckily, in the year 1900, scientists brought the ibex back to Switzerland as an effort to try and increase the numbers. They did not want the species would not become extinct. Thanks to those efforts, the ibex are no longer in danger of becoming extinct today.
