There was a cozy vibe, and I had the best carrot cake of my life here. They sold super cute cat-themed merchandise, too! Their adorable cat character resembled the calico cat from Jimin's solo song "Serendipity" from BTS' LOVE YOURSELF 承 Her.
Haeundae Dongbaekseom Island
One of my final stops was Dongbaekseom Island, which used to be a real island but is now connected to the land due to years of sedimentation. I walked along its scenic path, saw a mermaid statue based on the legend of Princess Hwagok, and looked out over the sea. Camellia flowers bloom all over the island in spring, making it feel like a secret garden.
The Long Ride Home
Sadly, it was time to leave. At 4:45 pm on Monday, May 5th, I departed from Busan on an express bus to Seoul. Express buses provide long-distance travel with minimal stops. My ticket cost me $20.19 (around ₩28,000). The journey to Seoul was supposed to take four hours, but it took seven because of traffic! I was hungry, tired, and ready to be back in my dorm. (Pro tip: always take the bullet train if you can—no traffic!)
Even with the slow trip home, my Busan getaway was unforgettable. I saw skyscrapers, temples, beaches, art villages, and even flew over the sea in a glass-bottom cable car. I laughed, learned, and tried new things—and I can't wait to return someday!
